Effective date: July 19, 2026

US School Index is an independent information website. It is not an official government portal, school district website, college website or education-agency service.

No government or institutional affiliation

US School Index is not operated by, affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by:

  • The U.S. Department of Education.
  • The National Center for Education Statistics.
  • The U.S. Census Bureau.
  • The National Assessment Governing Board.
  • A state education department.
  • A local school district.
  • A public or private school.
  • A college, university or accreditation body.

Agency and institution names are used to identify data sources or subjects of public-interest reporting.

Not an official record

Information published on the site should not be treated as an official transcript, enrollment record, accreditation decision, school report card, government notice or legal certification.

Official documentation should be obtained directly from the responsible school, district, institution or government agency.

Data limitations

Education data may be delayed, provisional, revised, estimated, suppressed or defined differently across sources. Reporting periods may not match the year in which a page is published or updated.

Although source and calculation checks may be performed, no guarantee is made that every number is complete, current or free from error.

Rankings and comparisons

A ranking represents relative position for a specific measure. It does not determine the overall quality, safety, suitability or effectiveness of a state, district, school, college or university.

Rankings may be influenced by population size, cost of living, demographic composition, reporting practices, institutional structure and other contextual factors.

No student, family, teacher or policymaker should rely on a single ranking without reviewing the underlying definition and local evidence.

No professional advice

Content does not constitute legal, financial, admissions, accreditation, academic-placement, employment or professional education advice.

Questions involving individual eligibility, enrollment, student rights, special education, financial aid, licensing or official policy should be directed to a qualified professional or the responsible institution.

External websites

Links to government agencies, schools, districts, universities and other organizations are provided for reference. External content, availability, security and privacy practices are controlled by the respective website operators.

A link does not imply endorsement of every statement, product or service available on the external website.

Names, marks and logos

Government agency names, institutional names, trademarks and logos belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in a citation or discussion does not imply authorization, partnership or endorsement.

Advertising and commercial relationships

Advertising or commercial links, when present, are separate from the source agencies discussed in editorial content. Advertisers do not become official sponsors of the statistics or rankings merely because an advertisement appears near a page.

Independent verification

Important information should be verified through the original source before it is used for an application, legal filing, institutional decision, financial commitment or public policy conclusion.

Reporting errors

Potential errors can be reported to support@usschoolindex.org. Reports should include the page URL, disputed statement and supporting source.

Submissions are reviewed under the Corrections Policy.
